Spring/Summer 2023 Hair and Beauty Trends

Happy Spring! To celebrate the beginning of the new season I’ve decided to look back at the runway shows of Spring and Summer 2023 to see which hair and beauty trends stood out to me the most for this upcoming season.

I’ve seen many of these hair and makeup trends used together on the SS23RTW runways. The top three aesthetics I see staying around for spring and summer are the 70s influence, a modern take on 90s supermodel grunge, and the very natural and glowy “clean girl” aesthetic.

70’s Influence

This trend has been extremely popular over the past couple of years and it looks like it is here to stay for spring. Expect to see more shag cuts, butterfly layers and classically styled bobs paired with bold and cool-toned eyeshadow a with graphic liner.

“Clean Girl” Aesthetic

Ever since the pandemic we’ve been seeing a lot more natural looks trending. Slicked-back stylized buns, effortlessly fresh-faced makeup, and embracing natural hair textures are still on trend and I’m here for it! With the pilates princess and ballet core aesthetic continuing to trend I’m hoping this look inspires more people to embrace their natural beauty and satiate their inner child.

90’s Supermodel Grunge

This iconic look is back with a more minimal and modern twist. Although I’m not a huge fan of the heroine chic look inspired by the party days of 90s supermodels like Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, I’m 100% here for a healthier and edgier version of this look. I’m truly obsessed with this stone-cold rockstar look. We can expect to see more smokey eye looks, black and brown lipstick, graphic eyeliner, and undone slicked-back hair with little to no glow or blush.
