Trend Analysis:
Neutral knitted layers are here to stay
Futuristic minimalism, neutral monochromatic looks – great for the corporate world and creating day-to-night looks
Matching sets and playsuits – from sleek and monochromatic to bold and textured
1017 ALYX 9SM
These monochromatic looks are perfect for the it-girl on the go. With these sleek silhouettes and accessories to match, the vivid colours in these looks make a huge statement in an effortless way.
ACT N.1
These looks have a huge Y2K influence. The way that the textures and bold patterns compliment each other in this collection is really refreshing. Although tulle is usually used in a hyper-feminine sense, the vivid colours makes these looks edgy.
ALANUI
These looks take the idea of “cozy-season” to the next level! The cottage-core/cabin in the woods vibes are the perfect alternative for the après ski bodysuit look we’ve been seeing. The earthy toned knits paired with cool pops of colour complement each other really nicely and make a great transition from winter to early spring.
AMBUSH
This runway collection feels like the modern version of a timeless wardrobe for your late twenty-somethings. The pieces are contemporary enough to be on-trend for today but are lasting because of their ‘70s influence.
BLUEMARINE
This show feels like a wearable fantasy! The hyper-feminine barbie doll outfits are the exact kinds of looks needed to make that “main character” moment! This collection made me feel nostalgic for early 2000s night-club looks from people like Paris Hilton and Lil Kim.
DIESEL
As an Italian brand, Diesel did not disappoint for their Milan show. Staying true to the brand, this collection shows off a huge motocross influence and is very sleek and sexy. There is an excellent use of texture and colour in all of the looks and pieces. It easy to imagine these clothes making you feel like a video game final boss.
GCDS
Something about this runway show gives “Adventure Time” cosplay in the best way possible. Although, this collection may not be for the everyday person, this would make perfect evening or nightlife wear for someone who likes to make fashion statements. The colours and textures used are so soft and sweet that it reminds me of a barbie princess movie. A perfect transition into early spring wear and a nice break from the darker shades you would usually see during this season.
HAN KJOBENHAVN
I get absolute alien superstar energy from this collection. The pairing of the muted neutral tones and the padded shoulder silhouettes gives off a very futuristic and ethereal vibe. I could definitely see musicians like FKA Twigs, Tinashe, Doja Cat and Lady Gaga in outfits like these on the red carpet, performing, or presenting at an award show.
